WORK WISE + LIVE WELL is the HOW we get relief from the burnout, overwork, anxiety, and overwhelm. How we stop ourselves and the organizations we work in or run ourselves from accepting the grind, the push, the hustle as the norm.

Without new language, models, elevated perspectives + space to practice and trust doing things differently, we stay stuck in our current reality or make it just a little better.

As we start to tap into true WISDOM, we become empowered to use our voices and choices to create realities for ourselves, those we love & lead, our organizations and teams, and this world that are rooted in sustainability, wellness, connection and prospering for people and planet.

In this episode of Feminine Power Time, #170 Work Wise Live Well, #3 of 3 in our Overworked and Over It Series, we will explore:

3 models + 3 practices + 3 acts of harmonic defiance
for releasing ways of working that burn us out + embracing new ways that have the power to create sustainable success, wellness + a life we can savor.

We will explore models that illuminate the distorted and unhealthy way of working and thinking that's created our current society and norms, and shine the light on other ways to approach achieving, succeeding and thriving, including:

  • The difference between working Working Hard. Working Smart. and Working Wise.
  • The 4-part path to Sustainable Creation vs. Unsustainable Creation.
  • Toxic Time Pressure vs. Healthy Time Pressure 
  • Working in the Rhythm of the natural cycles vs. the routine and prescribed man made time lines  

We'll also share practices for:

  • Giving enough to work and others, vs 110% or your all - without guilt
  • Reflowing projects, meetings, to dos, and goals when they start to feel crunchy 
  • Harmonizing your rhythm and the way you plan your life and work with the natural yearly and moonly cycles 

This episode was originally delivered as one of my quarterly/monthly Wisdom Sessions. For the past 7+ years I've held a wisdom session on 11.11 focusing on how we can tap into our deeper wisdom - our crazy wisdom - to do things differently, make courageous, wise choices that are aligned with our heart desires and soul path.

Time. It's one of those things that we all wish we had more of, and one of those things that contributes to the every day pressure we feel under. But did you ever... consider that time is a human made system? Or notice that many of the deadlines, must-get-done-by's, and must-do-this-nows put on us by others or generated by ourselves are in many cases preferences or unnecessary time constraints? 

I have spent ALOT of time thinking about time - lol. Going deeper underneath to find the roots of the pressure, burnout, stress, anxiety and driving forces that force us to work and operate in crazy-paced, unrealistic ways. 

As I was writing Overwhelmed and Over It, I wrote 20,000 words on Liberating ourselves from the time constraints and toxic time pressures that are just not necessary. We've just accepted the pace and pressure of how we work as normal but it's anything but 'normal' for a healthy planet and healthy humans. 

For this podcast, Transforming Tight Time Constraints & Toxic Time Pressure (#2 of 3 in our Overwhelmed and Over It Series, which will lead us into the Work Wise. Live Well. Wisdom Session).... I combed through the book to find three pieces of wisdom + 3 practices and actions you can take now to release yourself from the ways of working that are rooted in undue time pressure and ideals. 

Here's some of what we will explore:

  • What are time constraints ? And how do you know they are binding you up?
  • The 3 kinds of "fabricated time pressure" - how to spot it in others and in your organizations and projects, and yourself
  • How to notice the self-sabotaging things you are doing in your day to day that are stealing your time, or causing you to give too much time to the wrong things
  • Deadlines - why you DON"T want to work with these. 
  • 3 inquiries that will help you find the toxic time pressure in your life now, and give you simple but mighty ways to release the pressure
  • What is 'healthy time pressure' and how can you use it to get what matters done in a more fluid and efficient (and joyful) way

Driving, striving, grinding is not the only way to succeed, achieve and live. Pushing to deadlines - ours and others - that make us sick and stressed out is not the only way to be productive and get stuff done. It’s just how we’ve be trained to work, nose to the grindstone, climbing mountains, giving it our all until there’s nothing left.

But what if there was a different way? A wise way? One that created realties in which what really mattered got done … where we had space to breathe and savor our efforts and every day lives … where people were treated as human beings not machines ... and we motivated ourselves by energized inspiration instead of toxic pressure?

This reality is not a fairy tale. It is a possibility. It is a perspective shift on productivity that empowers you to redefine success.

And it is a practice - one that if you are brave enough to implement it in your work, career, projects, relationships and expectations will lead you to a lot more freedom, fulfillment and impact, because you are focused on the right things in the right timing … aka you are working in the flow vs. pushing forward ignoring the signs.

In this episode of Feminine Power Time with feminine leadership advisor Christine Arylo, #147 Pace Don’t Push: A Wiser Way to Achieve & Succeed, take an exhale and prepare to release the unnecessary pressure you’ve been feeling from others, or putting on yourself.

And then go into your life and start putting PACE DON'T PUSH into practice in your every day choices. Expect resistance. Expect fear. Move forward anyway, in the flow, vs forcing your way through.

  • How do you tell the difference between pushing that tears and pulling that stretches
  • What pushing feels like when you are wasting energy, time and money or trying to do things too fast
  • Why do we push instead of pausing ?
  • Why are we scared and resistant to resetting deadlines? Or moving delivery dates?

  • Reveal where you might be pushing and wasting your life force and resources.
  • Give you a practice that will help you stop the push, find the pace of grace and work in the flow

It is way too easy to overgive and overcompensate in our work and relationships and then get overwhelmed and distracted, and diminish our impact, and worse, deplete ourselves. Especially in these intense and changing times.

Which is why we are doing this series in Feminine Power Time on powerful inquiries to ask yourself for 2020 beyond, so you can stay centered, calm and clear... focused on what matters. 

This specific inquiry is at the root of feminine leadership - it's all about taking a stand for your self-sustainability and for giving and receiving in harmony in our work and relationships. It's also about feminine power and making a greater impact in your work and within the lives of those you love and lead.

When you know your part in your work you not only become more effective, you affect greater, lasting change.

When you know your part in your relationships, you stop over giving and feeling like you have to do it all or you are failing at doing it all. You embrace that you are one person in a constellation of people and support that collectively cares for others. WOW the spaciousness and lack of guilt that happens when you really embrace this.

This is also about purpose - when you can name your part to play in this bigger world, you too stop feeling like you are not enough or not doing enough because you see how you are making a difference in what is yours to do. 

#StayFocusedOnYourPart - that's the self-sustainability stand.

As leaders, we apply this stand to three realms of our lives - our work, our relationships and our physical foundation of health/wealth/home 

In this session, I'll share more about

  • what staying focused on your part means - and how it's essential to doing meaningful work, growing your work or business, not taking on too much, and gaining the power to say NO I can't without guilt
  •  why we have such a hard time not taking it all on whether it's at work or in our relationships
  • how to get an upgrade in who you work for so you can stop feeling so pressured and start receiving the support you need... and trust that others will too
  • honing in on your super powers so you can get clear on your part in the world, in your work and in your relationships. 

At the end of the session, I'll walk you through a personal meditation and visualization to help you get clear on what your part is and what you part is not in the 3 realms of your whole life .... and then take a stand to stay focused on your part this year 

This is preventative burnout and overwhelm care. It's self empowerment. It's feminine leadership. It's wise.

I would love more time! I wish I had more time! Oh, if I only had more time. I feel like I don't have enough time to do it all. Most of us feel the pressure of not enough time a lot. Our society thrives on time pressure, although you and I do not. While there are lots of ways timelines and deadlines get imposed on us that we don't have control over. There are many ways that you are creating your own stress and lack of time - which you can change and control. Obligation. Guilt. Worry. Over Efforting. That's where we dive in!

My mission in this Feminine Power Time podcast: Time Sucks & Time Stealers: 3 Ways to Stop Wasting Your Time SO You Have the Space for What Matters is to give you three very specific things to watch out for in the way you are making your choices that could be robbing time from you. Making you feel like you don't have enough time ... and filling up your time so you are busy doing too much... stealing time from what matters to you.

My intention is that you'll be able to identify these 3 time stealers and then use the practices and wisdom inquiries I share to make different choices ... to do the last part of this year differently, including the holidays, how you focus in your career/business, how you make sure there is space for what really matters to you.
